Everyone knows that the ancient Olympics began back in BC, but they stopped when a Roman Emperor abolished them 1700 years ago. Well, in the late 1800s a frenchman named Pierre de Coubertin made the USFSA and organized a meeting to hold the Olympic games. The vote passed and the Olympic games started again. Found here. The first was held in Greece in 1896. Most of the 245 people were Greek, but there were 14 different countries involved. Found here.
