Post 5: Sum up what you learned in Semester I

In August, I didn't know that there were tribes in Afghanistan, that there used to be states in Germany and Italy, and I didn't know the difference vetween Iraq and Afghanistan. Now I am able to watch the news and actually understand what they are talking about when they talk about what is going on in Afghanistan. Also, I understand what unites countries like Germany and Italy. I figured out the best way to learn for me is through research on news sites combined with research in the text books. I would like to find more good websites to research and find information and interviews on in the future.
