Results of Sorting People Quiz
My results: 4/16, with me getting one right in each category. However, I did not like the way the page was set up. A number of things were wrong about the pictures. The first is that they are about as wide and tall as half of your thumb. Second, the resolution was low. Also, the colors of the peoples skin were not very obvious, I could have sworn that the "black" women was the whitest one on the screen. Therefore, this was not an accurate test of our ability to choose race, and my score reflected that. However, I have learned that race is not an obvious thing, especially since most of Earth's people are mixed.

I think if you check other people's comments you will see that everyone had the same results in terms of a low score -- regardless of the resolution of the pictures. It's not so much that this test is not an accurate test because the picture's were odd; Nor is it intended to set you up for "failure." Rather, this test is, as you say, not an accurate test because there is not some single accurate test for race itself, because it is not a scientific category at all. As you said, it's not an obvious thing, but is that because people are "mixed" or because race doesn't even exist the way we've learned to think of it?
