According to the WHO (World Health Organization), this website says that the average percent of all countries' clean drinking water is 79.3%. There are 28 out of 147 countries including the United States that have 100% clean drinking water. Ethiopia has only 24% clean drinking water, while Afghanistan has only 13% clean drinking water.
I have decided to reseach Afghanistan specifically, because it has the lowest percentage access to clean drinking water in the world. According to Zahida Stanikzai, an expert on water and sanitation, "Only 60% of schools have water on site." However, over 75% of schools in the country do not have safe water facilities.Over six million tudents are enrolled throughout the schools in Afghanistan, and 5 million others do not attend. This year, the ministry of education will dig 5000 new wells at schools around the country this year.

In Ethiopia, drought and sanitation is followed by more drought and famine. According to Water.org, out of the 85 million that are in Ethiopia, 49 million have no access to water. Worse, 75.9 million are deprived from sanitation. Whenever there are droughts, disease is overflowing in the country. This is because all ponds and surface water dry up, forcing all of the people to get water from environmentally contaminated water sources.

Ethiopa is a country that is in great need for international cooperation because of their water shortage. Something that Afghanistan has already started doing is digging wells to help with getting water to those that have none. Ethiopia's depleting water supply will not get better as time progresses without international cooperation. According to worldpress.org, the world's population will increase by 2.6 BILLION by 2025, meaning an increasing demand for water. So, my proposal is get international cooperation by getting funds for digging wells and improving sanitation (boiling water to rid disease etc.).
I enjoyed learning from your research! Thanks for being in the habit of doing excellent work.
